Our services:

  • detailed maps and route descriptions
  • bicycle rental and transportation,
  • daily luggage transport,
  • accommodations and breakfast (unless otherwise noted)
  • and shuttle to and from the trails, where needed, including on your first and last day.  

Pricing:

The prices are consistent with hiking tours.
  • The tour shown on the right is 5 days / 4 nights.  
  • For a longer trip, start with Portland Island and end with an extra day in Sooke for a 7 days / 6 nights trip.
  • Start in Victoria for a 3 days / 2 nights trip, or longer.
  • Rest days (ie. days where no services from Trek & Treats are needed) are added at cost of accommodations.
Cost per person:
  • 3 days / 2 nights - $650 & 5% GST
  • 4 days / 3 nights - $925 & 5% GST
  • 5 days / 4 nights - $1,250 & 5% GST
  • 6 days / 5 nights - $1,475 & 5% GST
  • 7 days / 6 nights - $1,750 & 5% GST
    8 days / 7 nights - $1,975 & 5% GST
Bring your own bicycle or rent your bicycles from our activity partner, Coastal Cycles, for part of all of your trip.
  • Rental fee: $35/day or $100/week, plus 5% tax. Transportation is included.

Cycle Segment 1 - Crossing the Peninsula

Cyclists can follow one of several routes from Sidney to Brentwood Bay.  Cycle 12 km with few elevation changes at a minimum, or ~35 km on the somewhat more demanding Lands End route.

Stay at Brentwood Bay Resort or Brentwood Lighthouse B&B.

Hike Gowlland Tod Provincial Park 

  This is a superb hiking day for more ambitious hikers.  A day in Brentwood Bay also offers kayaking and Butchart Garden.


***Segments 2/3/4 - To Metchosin

Cycle 35 km - 40 km from Brentwood Bay ***

The Galloping Goose Regional Trail will take you to Metchosin, where country roads with good visibility and moderate traffic take you into the village, and on to your accommodations and the beach.

Stay at Wit's End Retreat or The Lodge at Weir's Beach

***If staying in Victoria, you can begin your cycling tour at this point.  We will you out of the busy core to start your tour...

Hike East Sooke Park

Fabulous coastal trails on bluffs, beaches and through forest, from easy to demanding. We will take you there and equip you with tips and trail maps for every level.  We'll meet you after your hike at the Smokin' Tuna Café, and take you back to Metchosin for another night.  

Alternatively, cycle to a nearby marina and kayak in a protected bay.  We've seen seals, otter, eagles, and yes, even whales.

Segments 5/6 - To Sooke Basin and Sooke River

Cycle 12 - 27 - 42 km

Past Metchosin, the cycling trail will take you through lush forest and along a swimming lake to picturesque Sooke Basin.  
You can end your ride here, or continue to the famous 'Sooke Potholes' on Sooke River, a favourite swimming spot in summer.  Another 5 km take you to the end of the Galloping Goose Regional Trail at Leechtown, the location of a former goldmining town.
